CALL FOR ARTThe Carlisle Conservation Foundation is celebrating its 60+ years of work protecting open space in Carlisle with an exhibition of artworks inspired by Carlisle’s Preserved Open Spaces.

This Call for Art is open to Carlisle residents of all ages and to everyone who loves Carlisle’s Open Spaces.

1. Artwork should be inspired by any of the CCF-owned properties and CCF-held Conservation Restrictions. Lists of properties and their locations can be downloaded here, along with a copy of this informatio about the exhibition. A larger version of the map of the town below showing the location of each property can be downloaded here.

2. The exhibition will take place between October and December, 2022. Artists may be inspired by the splendors of the seasonal displays of Carlisle’s natural environment: Winter, Spring, Summer, and/or Fall.

3. Artists may work in any media including photography, drawings and paintings, fabric and fiber, in both two and three dimensions (3D artwork must fit in the library’s display cases). Artwork must be appropriate for display at the Gleason Public Library. The library’s “Art at the Gleason” guidelines are available from the library website.

4. Artists are encouraged to reach out to CCF with regard to the property or properties they may want to represent. All questions should be directed to

5. Once you have completed your artwork(s), please send a photo of the work, dimensions, whether any work will be offered for sale, and indicate which property has inspired you. We will get back to you at the appropriate time with information about delivery of the artwork and to get all necessary details for the library curators to prepare identifying labels.
